INSTRUCTION
HEMI "3A" Approach. HEMI has created the “3 A” approach for teaching and learning: (Acquire, Analyze, Apply)
-
Acquire: Obtain the information to access the level of need and the problem areas.
-
Analyze: Study and explore How, Who, Why, and What are the appropriate techniques for students master and become equipped to enhance and or change their behavior.
-
Apply: Unlimited classroom opportunities are created to demonstrate and assess the students level of understanding, mastering of material, and improved behavior.
Repetition is key…..mastering these learned behaviors should also be encouraged outside the classroom every day.
Acquire + Analyze + Apply = ACHIEVEMENT
HEMI Instructional Style: HEMI instruction style is 75% nontraditional and 25% traditional. Traditional reading & writing assignments are integrated throughout our program. HEMI uses three styles of instruction:
(Conversation & Dialogue, Team Building Exercises, Hands-On Exercises)
-
Conversation & Dialogue: Questions, scenarios, movies, videos, pictures presentation boards, music, and drawing are used to engage the students, access the need and guide lessons.
-
Team Building Exercises: Group tasks are incorporated into most topics to encourage stimulate learning through physical movement, playful interaction, and role playing in a safe, fun and encouraging manner.
-
Hands-On Exercises: Simple props (balls, clothing, dinnerware, party food, etc.) simulations, other classroom tools and individual attention are used to emphasize certain topics.
